Now for the first time ever, J.K. Rowlings seven bestselling Harry Potter books are obtainable in a stunning paperback boxed set! The Harry Potter series has been hailed as one for the ages by Stephen King and a spellbinding saga by USA Today. And most recently, The New York Times called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the fastest selling book in history. This is the final Harry Potter collection for Harry Potter fans of all ages!

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's quest to overcome the evil dark wizard Lord Voldemort, whose aim is to subjugate non-magical people, conquer the wizarding world, and damage all those who stand in his way, Harry Potter. Since the 30 June 1997 release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. The series has also had some share of criticism, including concern for the increasingly dark tone.

The format of this edition is larger than most books tend to be making it hard to read in any position other than sitting upright holding the book on your lap or on a table. Each of the volumes features a pretty shiny dust jacket & is filled with a dozen or so full color illustrations by the famous Alan Lee.

This is a pretty edition of The Lord of the Rings (ISBN: 0618260587 ), & is probably best suited for anyone who is already a fan of the book, than for anyone who is reading the book for the first time.

In the event you are a fan of Alan Lee's artwork, & don't necessarily intend on READING this edition, though, this is a great piece to select up & will most likely be the type of book you finish up treasuring for years to come even if it is not the you give your children to read.

My main issue with this edition, besides the weight & size of the books, is that the pages containing text are shiny paper. The glare caused by this type of shiny paper make it a tiny irritating on the eyes when reading for long stretches of time. It would have been much nicer had they published this edition with matte paper for the text & saved the shiny solely for the illustrations.
